Our deepest fear

I was reminded of a great quote I had heard years ago. It was originally quoted to be from Nelson Mandela, but I could only find it under another name. It is a great quote neverthelss. :) I hope you enjoy it as well.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

That is a great perspective on who we are. Thanks for sharing, Nettie.
I am up early this Sunday morning. I woke up at 6:50 ish, went to the bathroom, and couldn't really get back to sleep. It is now 7:30 and I feel sleepy, but not too bad.
Love you forever!!!

The quote was actually quoted by Nelson Mandela from a book by Marianne Williamson titled "A Return to Love." The book is an interesting read. She has her own view of religion which does not exactly fit my own, but she had some excellent insights about how we should approach life, how we should view ourselves and others, and how love fits into all of that.
